| Summary of work for 2007 and discussion about measure to implement plan 2008 (January 29, 2008) (31 / 03 / 2008) | | Recently, on January 24, 2008, Lilama Corporation organized Conference for Summary of work for 2007 and discussion about measure to implement Plan 2008. At the conference, the first 3rd Class Independence Medal was awarded to entrepreneurs and the Labour Hero Pham Hung – General Director of Lilama – the first entrepreneur to receive the same. On behalf of Ministry of Construction, Prof.DSc. Nguyen Van Lien, Permanent Vice Minister, awarded this noble reward to Mr. Pham Hung.

In 2007, Lilama Corporation concentrated on directing the execution of the key national projects, promoting investment, developing, diversifying manufacture and business operations, completing the organizational machine of the Parent Company, Subsidiary companies, improving management capacity and successfully fulfilled the set norms and targets. All manufacture and business norms and targets were achieved with high growth rates. Manufacture and business in 2007 valued at 15,007 billion dong, increasing 144% compared with 2006, sales reached 9,743 billion dong, increasing 132% compared with 2006. Profits: 167 billion dong, increasing 211% compared with 2006. It is expected that in 2008, manufacture and business value shall reach 18,084.4 billion dong, increasing 120% compared with 2007 sales will reach 12,435, increasing 127% compared with 2007, profits reach 221.7 billion dong, increasing 132% compared with 2007. A number of member entities of the Corporation achieved a gigantic growth rate in terms of profit such as Lilama Joint-Stock Company 69-3: 716%, Lilama Joint-Stock Company 45-3: 615%, Lilama Joint-Stock Company 7: 480%, etc.
In the recent year, special importance was attached to the execution of key projects. The Uong Bi Thermal Plant Expansion Project 1 generated 10% beyond the rated capacity (312 MW) on July 3, 2007. Ca Mau Thermal Power Plant Project 1 fulfilled over 95.5% the work volume including those related to the open circle. Gas turbine No. 1 and 2 generated commercial power and were granted temporary acceptance certificates. These are expected to generate commercial power in March 2008 with a rated output of 750 MW. Ca Mau Thermal Power Plant Project 2 fulfilled about 90.5%, in which design completed 99%, equipment purchase and manufacture: 98%, building and installation: 75%. The Plant is expected to be operational in this 2008. Nhon Trach Thermal Plant Project is carrying out all its important synchronous items. Technological design and purchase of equipment for the open and closed circles are in keeping with the contract, adjustment of turbines and Unit No. 1 was finished, adjustment of turbine No. 2 is under way, installation of pipework equipment, tank and waste heat recovery boiler. Dung Quat Refinery Project 1 has completed the main items for P1 P2&3, in which tank installation completion: 94%, steel structure manufacture and installation: 85%, equipment manufacture and installation: 67%, pipework working and installation: 48%...It is expected installation of the Refinery will be completed and the Refinery will be put in operation on schedule.
Investment: In order to implement the guideline by Prime Minister and Ministry of Construction on the development of Vietnam Machine Installation Corporation into a strong economic group, with multisectorial operations in which machinery, equipment investment and manufacturer are the key areas, in 2007, the rate of Lilamas investment capital in basic construction became higher and higher with every passing day and accounted for a great proportion in business and manufacturer activities. If in 2007, spending for investment activities was 2,646 billion dong, then in 2008, this has reached 4,162.92 billion dong.

Lilamas selective and intensive investments are in the key areas in agreement with the Governments development planning until 2020, for example, in the power sector (Vung Ang HyThermal Plant 1, Hua Na Hydropower Plant...), cement (Thang Long, Do Luong, Song Thao...Cement Projects), mechanical machine building (Lilama mechanical machine building, equipment and ship building project in Haiphong, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, 6,000-ton ship build factory in Long An, steel structure and mechanical equipment manufacturer project in Binh Duong, equipment manufacturer complexes at such projects as Dung Quat¸ Nhon Trach, Thang Long, Ca Mau, etc.).
Lilama investment projects which are being executed all can ensure progress and quality. At Vung Ang HyThermal Plant 1, capacity: 1,200 MW, such works as bomb and mine scan, site clearance compensation, leveling and filing in the area for the main power house and operation house have been completed. The plant design work has incorporated foreign consultancy to complete the technical design which is being submitted to Ministry of Industry and Commerce for appraisal and approval. It is expected that there shall be cooperation with Sumitomo to set up an EPC complex to carry out the project.
The installation of Thang Long Cement Project is being rapidly executed, it is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2008, and in the 2nd quarter of 2008 it shall be tested. Specifically, at the main power house, the equipment and steel structure working process has been finished equipment installation achieved 68.5%, steel structure installation: 70.5%, working, manufacturer at Hiep Phuoc grinding station: 55%, steel structure manufacturer: 70.5%.
Other investment projects such as Song Thao Cement Plant: 1,497.5 ton of equipment has been transported to the Plant, 50.2% of the total workload finished at Do Luong Cement Plant, site clearance (42 ha) has basically been finished. The Government has agreed to appoint the general contractor complex for the Plant which includes: Lilama, LFC Consultancy Company and SIENCO 4. It is expected that EPC contract shall be signed in 2008. Ong River Hydropower Plant Project has completed such works as site clearance, transportation of equipment for EPC packages 1 and 2 and equipment is being installed...
